"Once A Gangster"....a crap!

Hi there...haven't write for some time now...maybe it is because of the lack of time, or lack of ideas..I dunno.

Actually I just got back from GSC in Mid Valley, went to see a movie with my friends, and the movie that I have chosen was "Once A Gangster". Remember "Young and Dangerous"? The movie about Chinese triads rivalry in Causeway Bay in Hong Kong. Did it ring a bell to you? No? How about Chan Ho Nam, Chicken, Tai Tin Yee, Pou Pan and Chow Pan from the Hung Hing Triad? WHAT??You never heard of them?? Where have you been all this time man? Ridiculous!

When I stumbled over the poster of this movie, suddenly I felt the excitement. "Wah, selepas 14 tahun, dorang buat wayang ni balik?" I have to admit, I idolized them when I was growing up. Please do not blame me, blame it on the angry teenager inside me.

Ok, lets just cut the story short. From the beginning, I felt something different about this movie, and it is not what I expected. It is not worth a penny at all! Damn!

The appearance of Ekin Cheng and Jordan Chan as heroes can't hide the weak plots that they got in this movie. The reputation of Chan Ho Nam and Chicken of Hung Hing Triad have been tarnished....

I wanted to write a short synopsis about the things that I hate about the movie, and I know that I got a lot of that. But because of the 'side effects' from watching it, I made a decision that I won't write any. I just want to vent my anger, my disappointment. If you didn't believe me, go and spend RM12 of your hard earned money and see this movie. I can assure you that you will regret it.

Five last words from me: THIS-MOVIE-WAS-A-JOKE!

Ciao.

Finally, the right to brag..

Hi there, we meet again in this crappy blog of mine.

17.12.2009 will be written in history. We achieved our target of 30-gold in Sea Games 2009, and the 40th gold came from football. It has been a very long time since we can hear the winning chants for our football team. We didn't use to winning, but tonight will be the night to be remembered for all the members of our football team, and to the nation as a whole. Even though it is an own goal against Vietnam, but still it is a goal. Tonight, we stand as one. And the most popular sport in the world did that for us Malaysians.

Malaysia has been in the slump of Asean football scene for so long. Since the 50's, we are one of the footballing giants of Asia along with South Korea. We won the bronze medal in Asean Games in 1962 and we qualified for 1972 and 1980 Olympics (in Munich and Moscow respectively). But in 1994, we were regarded as 'the fallen giant' because of match-fixing and it has been one of the definite moment in history where we were drifted apart from our glorious days of the 70's and 80's.

Talking about the 2009 Sea Games, our football team desperately wants to prove that they can make it big time. And they did. They have been drawn into Group A alongside eight-times champion Thailand, Vietnam, Timor Leste and Cambodia. Malaysia beat Timor Leste 11-0, lost to Vietnam 1-3, beat Cambodia 4-0, and 'magically' beat Thailand 2-1. In the semifinals, Malaysia beat Laos 3-1 to book their match with Vietnam (again) in the finals. And they proved that with the right attitude, anything can happen. We defeated Vietnam 1-0 to win the gold medal of the 2009 Sea Games.

Malaysia played defensively throughout the tournament. A 4-4-2 formation was used by K. Rajagopal, with captain Aidil Zafuan and Muslim Ahmad in the heart of defence with Nasriq and Sabre Abu as fullbacks. Safiq Rahim is the attacking midfielder with K.Gurusamy acted as the holding midfield hovering above these four defenders and flankers Baddrol Bakhtiar and S. Kunanlan gave the speed and width the team needs. The two main strikers are Norshahrul Idlan Talaha and Zaquan Adha. The 'Harimau Malaya' maybe lack in techniques, height and fitness, but it was compensated by the urge to win, the urge to show everybody that they were no pushovers in Laos. That is the spirit that we want to see. Yeah, winning is important in any sports, but the most important is to fight before anything else. You'll never lose your pride if you fight with your heart out before throwing the towel into the ring.

Winning the gold medal after 20 years is really worth the wait. It's the joy that we can never explained. K. Rajagopal has succeeded in his quest to end the drought of winning the Sea Games gold medal for this nation of ours. Our U-23 team has proved that with all the criticism and faded hopes that have been shown by most Malaysians, they still prevail. And I hope this will be the beginning of our journey to the new height in recapturing the form that made Harimau Malaya feared by others years ago.

Au revoir.

The politicking in Malaysia

After the 12th general election, and all the by-elections Malaysia has been through, the popularity of the Oppositions in Parliament has increased significantly. But in my personal view watching MP's debating Bills tabled in the Parliament, there are MP's, especially from the Oppositions, are 'attention-seekers'. They said they represents the rakyat, but all I can see is stupid questions being raised so that the rakyat can see that they are 'working'. Haha. How funny.

And ironically, because the Government do not have the power it used to have anymore, any Bills that being tabled will not get the green light easily like before. Yeah, on certain aspects, it is a good sign so that any Bills that passed, the rakyat will get the benefits from it. But from what aspects can we see it from when MP's questioning the Bills like a clown? And almost everytime, I mean ALMOST, these MP's will relate the Bills with the Opposition's advisor cases? Like for instance, the DNA Act Bill. The MP's from the Opposition knew what I'm talking about.

Karpal Singh.
Everyone knows him. The lawyer-cum-politician who suggested that the police force should interviewing witnesses only within the office hours limits, like the MACC. Come on Karpal, you sounded stupid already. Do you think that the criminals will only do their 'jobs' within office hours and after 5 p.m, will go home to their families and have dinner together, spending time with their childrens? Another funny, illogical story, if it's true.

The police force, and any enforcement agency in this matter, should only be answering to the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, and not you, Karpal or anyone else. If I may use my logic, if I'm the chief commisioner for MACC, would I want my witness to be dead? Even though his statements were highly important to the case that we are investigating at the moment? No, right? What for? So maybe, just maybe, there are other people that would love to see Teoh Beng Hock vanished from this world for their safety...and it is not the Government.

I do not want to disrespect Teoh Beng Hock or any of his family in any way at all, but for me, there are some quarters that using this issue to manipulate the situation for their gain.

Because of the popularity of the Opposition that they had gained for the past year, the Government under our PM has been making sure that the rakyat will get everything that they want. The rakyat want their voice to be heard, our PM bowed down and listen. Even though sometimes it was just a waste of time to listen to everybody, he has to do it. Why? Because he did not want when the 13th general election comes, the Government fall. He wants to ensure that the Government will still relevant to the rakyat. This is where the Opposition played their part, making small issues big so that the rakyat can see that they 'worked very hard' for the rakyat. Yeah, right.

I'm not saying that the government is true all the time, but after the last general election, our political scene has been in turmoil. By-elections keep coming in, and sometimes I wonder, when will all the promises that had been made in the last general election be fulfilled?Hmmm....

For all it's worth, this is only from the eye of an ordinary rakyat who loves his country very, very much.

Till then...

thirty-year-old-man

August 8.

A sacred date. The day that in 1963, "The Great Train Robbery" happened, and also Richard Nixon, the President of USA resigned after the Watergate Scandal in 1974.

1979 - I was born.

I was born in Tawau, 12.15 a.m, August 8th, and it is in the middle of Ramadhan al-Mubarak, the fasting month of the Muslims. My dad used to tell me that i was born when there was a full moon, and everything just silenced the moment I appeared.(talked about irony)

Lived in Tawau for 16 years before we moved to Lahad Datu, another city in the East Coast of Sabah. Lived there for almost 13 years now...

Graduated from Universiti Malaysia Sabah in 2005, and my first job was selling oil palm fertilizers. Stayed on the job for almost 3 years, before moving to another job, that is as an assistant manager to an oil palm estate company, a subsidiary to the state government, Borneo Samudera Sdn Bhd. And the rest is history.

That is the brief history of me..Till next time..

See you when I see you.
